God's Clockwork

When serious events happen in your life everything stands still. Your whole world is stuck in that moment. We sometimes fail to realize that the rest of the world is still moving on like clockwork. The sun rises every day as it normally does. The grace of God is still covering us in abundance.

In these times of change and transitions we are always recipients of God's grace. At the time of my cancer diagnosis, I could feel God's grace over showering me.

I felt like a hungry caterpillar. Before a caterpillar transforms into their chrysalis they eat a lot. This is so they will have enough nourishment to survive the metamorphosis. I felt like I was inside a chrysalis, I had eaten an abundance of God's Word, so while I was hanging around in Pink Valley, my life at a standstill, I had enough nourishment, enough of God's Word in me to sustain me through the metamorphosis. God's grace was moving like clockwork, like the sun rays bursting through the tree, shinning on me everyday.

There is no way to know when these life changing events will occur. Who knows if and when they may be diagnosed with breast cancer. If you live your life as a serious Christian you will be prepared. There are 3 things you must do to prepare you for anything in life that may come across your path.

1. Really Know Christ - Have a deep and rich relationship with Jesus Christ. You have to without a doubt, believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. You must know who He is and what He has done for you beyond John 3:16. Knowing that there is more, beyond this earthly life we live.

"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ" Philippians 3:20

2. Pray - Have trust and belief in the power of prayer. This builds as you develop a rich life in prayer and when life changing events happen, and they will, you will naturally go to God in prayer and,

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:6-8

3. Study - When God's Word is in you, it will come out during life changing events. Everything you need can be found in the Holy Bible. You have to study and seek God with all your heart (Psalm 119:10). There are times when I wonder where my thoughts of encouragement, positive responses, and fight against spiritual warfare come from, it is God's Word that I have hidden in my heart. (Psalm 119:11). And as 2 Timothy 2:15 says,

"Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth."

Although, I was at a standstill, living as though I was a caterpillar transformed into a chrysalis, there was movement on my behalf, like clockwork, God was showing me His grace, Jesus was praying for me and the Holy Spirit was speaking to me. Then there was my own movement. I will continue the story of God's clockwork in a future blog.
