Surprise

As I journeyed out of Pink Valley, I didn't know how long the transition would be. That is to be expected and as with any change, stepping back into an old rhythm is impossible. You have to catch your new rhythm and that is like trying to sing a song and you don't know the lyrics, but after hearing it a few times you catch on. I realized I was near the top of the mountain. I was approaching victory. When I reached the top there was a surprise. It was Jesus.

Jesus had been with me all along and He was planning this surprise praise party with me at the top of the mountain. The theme of the party was, "Won't He Do It", like the song by Koryn Hawthorne. I could feel my new rhythm. I could hear my new song and lyrics were the Words of God:

"It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8

God walked with me,

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe." Proverbs 18:10

God talked with me,

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:7-8

God told me that I am His!

The Holy Spirit reminded me of all God has done and the replay of my journey was running through my mind. I was overwhelmed with joy, truly knowing that the joy of the Lord was and is my strength and I was free. I could breathe, I could just let it all out and be free knowing that I was safe, protected and forever a recipient of God's everlasting love. I knew the Word of God, having leaned on it throughout my journey. I knew the song I was singing. Now, I could rejoice with my Savior Jesus Christ and celebrate at the surprise praise party on the top of the mountain. Jesus planned it just for me. I was singing and dancing to the rhythm of Psalm 62:5-8:

"My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him. He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken. On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.

All praises to God!
