Celebrate Anyhow

One year after being diagnosed with stage zero breast cancer it was time to celebrate. I received a clean bill of health from my radiologist and I wanted to shout but, I could not. I was so fatigue from the cancer prevention that I didn't feel totally free.

Then I was hit in the head with a spiritual hammer that rang, woman you better celebrate anyhow! So I called my family, texted a few friends and told them the good news. Then I rested. I was having some really bad fatigue days. As I rested I was reminiscing and giving God thanks. And I had the thought that being in "prevention" is the proof that I made it through the attack. I could take of the gloves.

Being in prevention mode meant I was no longer fighting, because there was nothing to fight, it was already defeated. No need to be bitter about the hand I have been dealt. I have to play the best game I can; believing that no matter how the cards fall I will be victorious.

"I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you." Luke 10:19

As we go through life we need to realize that we are in prevention mode. The devil has already been defeated. We already have the victory, Jesus has prevented the devil from having any power over us. "The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8) When we don't believe this we allow the devil to influence us with his schemes and wreck havoc in our lives. When challenging situations happen that we have no control over we must stay faithful and stay in prevention mode. To trust and believe that we are protected by the blood of Christ Jesus. The blood of Jesus will prevent any attack of the enemy from defeating us, we have the victory.

Once again, my perspective of my journey was elevated to a gratefulness that I am a Child of God as I celebrated my freedom from breast cancer and my freedom in Christ.
