God is Faithful

I cannot believe that it is the last week of October. The time has gone by quickly and I have enjoyed every minute. There are five days left in the Write 31 Days challenge. I would like to share 5 things I learned through my journey.

The first is that God is Faithful.

As I decided on a topic, I was hesitant to do something so personal. Then as I began writing, I realized that it was a way for me to grow in my gift as a writer and it was also therapeutic.

Everyday, thinking of something to write about was not as difficult as I thought it would be. That was the working of the Holy Spirit. I will confess that I made a chart with numbered days and what I would write about. That chart went out the window on day two. By allowing that to happen I have grown as a writer and trust in the ability God has given me more than I did before.

Isn't that how we do with life? We have these plans and we want to follow them. Sometimes when we fall off of our created path we begin to think that we are heading for failure. But if we trust in God, knowing that He is faithful we can freely enjoy the ride and let Him be our guide.

Two scriptures come to mind Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

And Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Then it has been therapeutic. Reflecting on my journey through breast cancer, some days I was crying as I was writing, shouting as I was writing, praising God or saying wow as I wrote about the incredible God that we serve. I am so blessed. We are so blessed. Where would we be without our God.

“Lord, the God of heaven, the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, Nehemiah 1:5

I had no idea what this written journey would look like; nor did I have any idea of the freedom and power I would feel now that I have shared my story. I honestly, want to share it more. I am looking forward to what God has planned for me as a writer.
