God's Timing Is Perfect

As we come close to the end of the challenge to write for 31 days, I am excited to have participated. I am sharing the five things that I have learned in this journey. The first was God is faithful and second that I share in this post is God's timing is perfect.

There are countless days that I have scheduled the time and date that I would begin to post faithfully. I had my topics, several written posts, the day I would start and so on. It didn't happen. I could not find consistency. I don't have an explanation, except that it was not the right time.

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” Proverbs 16:9

In my little planning book for several years, I had scheduled many things that have not happened. I realized that some were good ideas, but not God's ideas. In God's big plans for us our ideas and timing does not matter, unless they line up with God's. God's timing is perfect.

For the last few months I've been diligently working on my website. One day the email popped up reminding me about the Write 31 Days challenge. There was no hesitation (which was an excellent indicator that it might just happen), I didn't want to miss the opportunity, like last year. I really felt that this time (a year later) was just right. I was prepared and I had the time. So, I committed to writing everyday and praise God I am doing it. I didn't plan it, God did it. For the last few years, God has shifted situations at home, work and church so that I would have the time, the place and the passion. God set it up.

"The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord" Lamentations 3:25-26

We have to be careful not to be too hard on ourselves when things don't go according to our plans. We think it is the right time for something and actually we are way off. Thinking that we are failing or missing the mark is unnecessary when the truth is we may not be in sync with God's timing, for whatever it is God may be teaching us to be patient; to wait and trust His timing. I first desired to blog somewhere around 2012. Here I am today; ignited by a challenge, into something I have desired to do for six years. I don't plan to stop anytime soon. I am more passionate and focused about writing and I enjoy it. As I said, I have been working on my website (www.onfirefemale.com), it is updated, I am ready and this is only the beginning. God is faithful and if it is in God's will for you, it will happen, but in God's time. God's timing is perfect.
