Free From Resolutions

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1

Faith brought you through some challenging situations last year and you have walked into the new year. Some situations may not be resolved, but like I tell myself, "You are one day closer to having zero days left to be concerned with it". The truth is it has not changed your position, woman of God, this very morning you were given new mercies.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22–23

This time last year I was walking into radiation treatments. After each treatment, I would say one less day to go, crossing out that day on my calendar. I am so grateful that I am free from breast cancer. God revealed Himself to me in ways I cannot explain. If you love Him, God will take both the good and the bad and make the best of it. (Romans 8:28).Now, I reflect on God's goodness, grace and mercy that brought me through and kept me walking in faith.

We do not know what the year ahead holds, but God does. God desires to workout His plan in your life. Right now people are at the end of the first week of their new year's resolutions. The plan is to a get the year started right. For the Christian the right way to start anything is to seek God's plan. And although it is a challenge sometimes, do this with patience.

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Psalm 27:14

A resolution is to begin or end something where we set the time limit... from this day forward, in two weeks, by the end of the year. I've done it and the disappointment of not making the deadline made me feel hopeless. I often made the number one resolution to lose weight. After the 100th time of not keeping that resolution. I had a deep conversation with God

Why do I keep letting the devil....

My flesh is so weak....

Then God began to reveal to me, the truth. I was focusing on the weight, but the issue was my fear of success. Honestly, I was like, Huh...what? My freedom was in that revelation. Then something clicked (I cannot unpack that here, but I will someday). I stopped making resolutions and hungered for God's revelations, about me, my issues, my life. God opened my eyes and I had hope. I prayed for God to place me on His time clock, keep me on His path. God is in control and knows the time, date and location of your breakthrough, you have to be open to receiving it.

You have to seek God and follow His direction and have a prayer life in which you hear God and know His word. Jeremiah 29:11 says, " For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." God know the plans for your life,

If you want to change, according to God's will for your life, you have to be ready to do the work and be worked on. Pray, study the Bible and listen to God's instructions. The change may take a day, weeks, months or several years. We have to be patient in a hurry up world, and keep walking with expectation.

A new year is a time of reflection and refreshing. To look back and celebrate what God has revealed in the last year and to look out into a new year with expectation of what God is going to do in your life, how God will carry you through any challenge, and bring the change you so desire. You must decide to be free from resolutions and to wait in expectation of new revelations.
