The Freedom To Dream

I want to be honest and say this year did not turn out the way I thought it would. It has been a tough year in more ways than one. In the toughness, God has been faithful. I am still getting up from my last knockdown. I know that If you allow yourself to think about how many times you have been knocked down and what you cannot do you will lose sight of your dreams and will soon be on the path of hopelessness.

I had to learn how to keep on moving forward through my tears, fears, and brokenness. It is the most difficult thing to do.To look past your circumstances and still believe in your dreams. Especially when you are in a get back up stride and you feel good about it and then something bad happens, to set you back again, to knock you down again.

The stacking up of those situations can steal your hope. It can become heavy like a stack of rocks piled up on top of you. How do you get back up, when you are knocked down while trying to get back up? Many lose sight of their dreams and find it difficult to have hope.

The enemy’s voice says, just stay knocked down, forget those dreams, this is your reality now. Yes, it is your reality now. The accident happened; the financial loss happened; the failed relationship happened. the tragedy happened. It is your new reality. The enemy wants to use it to kill your hope for the future.

You have to make the choice to not forget your dreams and believe they will manifest in your future.

Your circumstances may change but you have the freedom to think beyond them unless you allow the enemy to bind your mind. Nothing can stop you from remembering and holding onto the dreams God has given you except you.

Talk to God and be real about your feelings, be it anger, frustration, confusion then let it go. Yes, that is the key, let it out, get it out of your mind, then let it go! In this, you are being honest and truthful. The truth shall set you free.

You can be free from worrying about it, once you give it to God. Then continue praying and trust God to work through what you have and what you can do, at this moment in your life.

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

Allow God to work in your new reality. God will begin to bring your dreams to pass. It may not be on the schedule you had planned, but God will do it, and it will be right and good.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

If you are joining me on the tough year wagon, give it all to God and let's enter into the new year, a new decade living in our freedom to dream and have hope in all that God has promised.
