God is Sovereign

When you journey through challenging times your view of God can change. For some this may be a turn towards faithlessness, distrust and disconnection from God. For others it can mean a deeper meaning and understanding of who God is.

In my journey through breast cancer, sharing during the Write 31 Days challenge and everyday life I have come to know more about who God is. I have always known Him to be faithful, to have perfect timing, to meet all of my needs and to give me strength. Today I am reflecting on, God being Sovereign, Psalm 24: 1-2 says,

The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therein, for he has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers."

Everything belongs to God. So when we are in need He can bring anything and everything under His command. In your environment, the people around you and even your health and personal circumstances. God is everywhere we are and a constant companion in our lives. Psalm 139: 7-10 lets us know that we cannot escape the presence of God,

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will lay hold of me.

Isn't that awesome to know that God sees, hears and knows everything about you. He knows what you do and what you need. The comfort in knowing that God is sovereign is that every day and every night we are taken care of. There is no need to worry or as Matthew 16: 31-33 says,

"Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all."

Isn't our God AMAZING and AWESOME! We are the privileged, the blessed and the righteous children of God. If you love God, really love Him, give your life to Him and receive all the benefits of being His child. Matthew 16 continues in verse 33 saying,

"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

God is sovereign; make Him the priority in your life. Put God first and watch Him work miracles in your life.
